The Trenton Golden Hawks were clicking in all areas of their game Friday night, shutting down the highest scoring team in the Ontario Junior Hockey League.
Anand Oberoi posted a 28-save shutout as the G-Hawks bested the 2nd best Junior A team in the country, the Oakville Blades by a 4-0 score.
The 19-year old goaltender says a bit of good luck was on his side in the victory.
Dylan McMahon scored a pair for Trenton in the win, single tallies went to Cameron Gaylor and Tiger McDonald.
Next up for Trenton is a divisional date with the Whitby Fury at 2 p.m. Sunday.
Meantime, the Wellington Dukes fell short in another late comeback attempt in Lindsay, falling 5-4 to the Muskies.
Andrew Rinaldi picked up four points to lead the Dukes offence in a losing cause, while linemates Tyson Gilmour and Elijah Gonsalves pitched in with three and two points respectively.
Wellington hosts the Burlington Cougars at Lehigh Arena Sunday. Puck drop is set for 1:30 p.m.
And in Provincial Junior C, the Napanee Raiders downed the Gananoque Islanders 5-2.
Cullen Hinds buried two in the victory for Napanee.
Saturday night action sees Campbellford hosting Port Perry and Picton traveling to Port Hope. Both games start at 7:30 p.m.
