The local real estate business is humming along nicely after a strong month of October.
According to Quinte & District Association of Realtors President Natasha Huizinga, dollar sales for all property types have come in at $86.2 million, an increase of 10.4 percent from 2017.
Also, the October monthly dollar sales for residential listings is coming in with a significant increase of 21.1% with $79.6 million for 2018 compared to $65.7 million in October of last year.
The 229 residential units sold last month was a slight boost from the 222 units sold in 2017.
The average sale price for residential listings again increased a healthy 17.4% over last year, coming in at just over $348,000 for 2018.
Finally, the association is reporting a positive year-to-date residential average sale price, with 2018’s total of $333,905 being good enough for an 11.6% increase over 2017’s $299,101.
