A provincially funded skills-training program partnered through Loyalist college is getting ready to run its last two programs.
The College’s Business Development Manager Chuck O’Malley told the Quinte Economic Development Commission Tuesday that one of the Elevate Plus programs will be run locally, and the other in Northumberland County.
An information session for the last training locally will be held at the Business Development building on Wallbridge-Loyalist Road, starting at 10 a.m. on Wednesday.
The provincial government provided $895,000 for Elevate Plus, the skills training pilot for the manufacturing sector in the Quinte region.
O’Malley says that so far the skills training program has trained 145 people, who then stepped into local jobs.
QEDC Executive Director Chris King tells Quinte News any further information about funding for the project will probably have to wait until March of 2019.
