Steve Ferguson is the new mayor of Prince Edward County.
He picked up just under 5,000 votes, getting almost 1,000 more than Diane O’Brien, both well ahead of Richard Whiten.
Ferguson says it is still setting in.
Diane O’Brien spoke to Quinte News after the loss and wished the new mayor all the best.
Councillors will be Andreas Bolik, Janice Maynard, and Bill McMahon for Ameliasburgh ward. In Athol it is Jamie Forrester. For Bloomfield-Hallowel it is Phil Prinzen and Brad Nieman. Ernest Margetson was elected in Hillier, Stuart Scott Bailey in North Marysburgh, and Kate MacNaughton and Phil St. Jean in Picton. Bill Roberts was acclaimed for Sophiasburgh, John Hirsch in South Marysburgh, and Mike Harper in Wellington.
