A pair of six-point nights from Andrew Rinaldi and Elijah Gonsalves stoked the offensive fire for the Wellington Dukes in an 11-5 rout of the Kingston Voyageurs.
Rinaldi posted a hat trick to go along with three assists and Gonsalves scored twice with four helpers. Dylan Massie and Brett Humberstone scored their first goals in a Dukes uniform and Tyson Gilmour picked up three assists in other highlight performances.
Wellington got points from 16 of 18 players in the big victory and Olivier Lafreniere stopped 40 of 45 shots between the pipes.
The Dukes visit the Toronto Patriots at 7:15 p.m. Saturday night in next action.
G-Hawks storm back late to tie Chargers
The Trenton Golden Hawks snatched a well-deserved single point from the jaws of defeat on home ice last night.
The Quinte West club fell behind 2-0 with less than two minutes to play in regulation time, but managed to score a pair of late tallies to secure a 2-2 tie with the Mississauga Chargers.
Matt Nastasiuk and Paul O’Doherty struck for the goals just 16 seconds apart from each other. O’Doherty also assisted on Nastasiuk’s marker and Ben Allard-Robitaille stopped 24 shots in net.
Trenton has Saturday off before visiting the Whitby Fury at 2 p.m. Sunday.
Raiders blast Rebels
Led by a Bailey Matthews hat trick, the Napanee Raiders took down the Campbellford Rebels 10-2 in Provincial Junior C Friday night.
Jacob Murphy and Luke Joseph also recorded three points each for Napanee.
Mathieu Piazzi and Andrew Ward scored for Campbeflford.
