Collins Bay Institution in Kingston has been placed under a lockdown.
The medium security unit was locked down to allow staff to conduct an exceptional search after staff confiscated multiple packages containing contraband and unauthorized items on Monday morning.
Items seized include five cellphones, five USB flash drives, cigars, ceramic knives, scissors, rolling papers and a ratchet socket bit.
The total institutional value of the items is $10,000.
Regularly scheduled visits at the prison may be affected.
