A 24 year-old man had to be rescued from a Quinte West storm drain on the weekend, after what police say, was a bet gone wrong.
They got the call around 10:00 p.m. and responded near Water and Nicholas Streets.
Police found the man naked in the storm drain and he told them he had went in there as a bet and that his friends had left him there, taking his clothes with them.
The man, who wasn’t injured and whose name wasn’t released, was charged with being intoxicated in a public place and was also charged under the Trespass to Property Act.
OPP are also taking the opportunity to remind you about the dangers of entering storm drain systems, as they’re used to move mass amounts of water to holding ponds and rivers and can sweep you away if flows are high.
