Belleville council will discuss leg hold traps at its meeting Tuesday, but it’s not expected it will make a final decision.
At its last meeting council heard from a resident concerned about the pain and suffering caused to animals by certain kinds of trapping.
Monday, council will hear information from the Ontario Fur Managers Association and a related organization regarding leg hold and other types of traps.
Council will vote on whether or not to have staff develop a policy regarding animal trapping.
