After months of sporting scaffolding around its perimeter, the Presqu’ile Provincial Park lighthouse at the Point is finally being shingled.
Impact Advantage has been contracted by the Ministry of Natural Resources to complete the work.
Workers began work last week, and expect to complete the job later this week, weather permitting.
The project, which was spearheaded by the Presqu’ile Point Lighthouse Preservation Society, suffered a huge setback earlier this year when the then treasurer was charged with stealing tens of thousands of dollars from the fundraising account.
The Society’s Annual General Meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday at the King Edward Park Community Centre.
