Round #1 of the Battle of Quinte ended in a 3-3 stalemate between the Wellington Dukes and Trenton Golden Hawks.
Wellington had a lead late in the third period, but the Golden Hawks struck on the powerplay to tie the game with three minutes and change to go in regulation.
Olivier Lafreniere was the big star in a competitive game, stopping 52 of 55 shots in a first star effort.
Tyson Gilmour and Elijah Gonsalves notched a goal and an assist each, while Ben Woodhouse also scored for the Dukes. Andrew Rinaldi, Dalton Bancroft and Dawson Ellis also drew assists.

For Trenton, Mason Hardy scored his first two goals of the season, both with the man advantage and Jake Campbell also added his first tally as a Golden Hawk.
Former Duke Mack Warren picked up two helpers, with single assists going to Ryan Brown and Brad Lindsay.
Anand Oberoi made 34 saves in his Trenton debut.
Both teams are in action Sunday in the GTA, with Wellington travelling to North York to face the Rangers at 3 p.m. and Trenton stopping right in Toronto to battle the Patriots at 5:30 p.m.
Raiders lose third period lead, tie Jets
Similar to that of the Dukes, the Napanee Raiders lost a third period advantage and was forced to settle for a 3-3 tie with the Amherstview Jets.
Reid Humphrey scored a goal and an assist, Evan Foley and Ryan Casselman also picked up markers for Napanee.
Nicholas Nabuurs turned aside 22 shots in goal.
