Theft of high end bicycle
On September 27, 2018 at 7:42 a.m. police responded to the south-west area of the city for a reported theft of an expensive bicycle. The owner reported to police that the property had been stolen between 11 p.m. the evening prior and early Thursday morning. The bicycle is described as a DAYMK – EAGLE. Arrested on warrants
On September 27, 2018 city police arrested two residents on outstanding warrants. At 2:22 p.m. a 36-year-old man was arrested and taken into custody in the area of Adam Street for failing to attend court. He is being held in custody pending a bail hearing today at the Ontario Court of Justice.
At 2:47 p.m. city police arrested a 38-year-old female resident on an arrest warrant for theft under five thousand dollars. The arrest occurred in the area of Baldwin Street and Stone Street. This warrant was held by the Prince Edward County Ontario Provincial Police. The female subject was turned over to the OPP for processing of the warrant and charge.
Retail shopping theft
On September 27, 2018 at 4:36 p.m. police attended to a shopping centre in the northern portion of the city where it was reported two people, a male and a female had stolen a vast quantity of merchandise. The male is described as being in his early to mid 50s wearing a red sweater, a gray shirt and jogging pants. This male was in possession of a suitcase on wheels. The female suspect is described as having short reddish hair, wearing a blue sweater and jeans. Her age is described to be in the mid 50s. The investigation is continuing. Theft and breach charges
On September 27, 2018 at 8:37 p.m. police attended to a shopping centre in the north end of the city for further reports of theft. An investigation resulted in two area men being arrested and charged. Charged with theft under five thousand dollars, assault with intent to resist arrest, and breach of probation is 29-year-old Tyler Jason Hill of Roblin, Ontario. A second male, 58-year-old Daniel Clarence Hill of Belleville has been charged with theft under five thousand dollars and breach of probation. Both men have been released from custody on notices to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville next month.
