The Hastings County Agricultural Museum in Stirling held their Quinte Agricultural Wall of Fame ceremony on the weekend.
Pat Johnston and Carl Wilce and Lynn Ward were inducted into the Wall of Fame.

Pat Johnston and her partner the late Carl Wilce can best be described as tireless advocates for agriculture and their community. Carl farmed all his life and early in his career also worked at MacKenzie Canning Factory. Pat was an integral part of the farm operation as well as having a professional career as a veterinary technician and research assistant. She taught animal nursing at St. Lawrence College and finished her off-farm career after 10 years as
CEO of Colborne Public Library. Pat and Carl were partners not only in life but in their volunteer activities.
Carl was a director for over 35 years and Chair of the Northumberland Cattlemen’s Association and Pat served as Secretary-Treasurer for 10 years. Carl was a founding member of the Quinte Stocker Sales committee and a member of the Northumberland Soil and Crop Improvement Association for 35 years. Carl served Cramahe Township as Councilor. Pat has been a member of the Shiloh Ladies Group supporting charities and local projects for 44 years. They both were Trustees of Shiloh United Memorial and Eden United Churches and directors for the Dundonald Community Group. Pat and Carl were founding members of the Northumberland Agriculture Awareness Committee, helping to organize Field to Food, a student agriculture education fair. Together they advocated for the agricultural industry at numerous trade shows and exhibits. Carl was a founding director of the Colborne Cramahe Apple Blossom Tyme Festival and they organized the Vintage Tractor, Gas Engine and Farm Machinery Show for 27 years. Pat also served terms as Secretary-Treasurer and Chair. They have been directors of the Northumberland Federation of Agriculture for over 20 years and Carl is a past President and Pat retired as Vice-President. Pat helped develop the Northumberland Food Charter. They hosted Beef Day twice and Rural Ramble three times. Carl was awarded the Province of Ontario Volunteer Award and Pat the Colborne Rotary Citizen of the Year award and just recently was presented with the Order of Cramahe award. Lynn Ward

Lynn Ward is a lifetime volunteer. After growing up as a 4-H member in Glengarry County Lynn became a registered nurse and worked for 42 years at Belleville General Hospital. She and her husbnd Don are partners in their
farm in Prince Edward County. Lynn has led over 120 4-H clubs but has contributed to 4-H in many more ways. She has been a team leader, organizer, and member of the Prince Edward 4-H Association for over 30 years and is a past-president. She has been on the 4-H Regional Board for over 20 years and is currently on the 4-H Ontario Board of Directors. She continues to volunteer at local, regional and provincial events. Nationally, Lynn has participated in the Canada 4-H Summit and Canada 4-H Forum and has led two 4-H inter-provincial exchanges. In 2011 Lynn was presented the prestigious Syngenta 4-H Arbour Award for outstanding contribution to 4-H. She was a director on the Prince Edward Agricultural Society for over 20 years, a member of the Agricultural Awareness Committee, and the Board of the Prince Edward Federation of Agriculture. She was president of the Parent Council of her daughters’ public school that also benefited from her numerous volunteer activities. She was a Sunday School Teacher, leader of her church’s Youth Group and member of several church committees. Lynn also spent ten years with Girl Guides as a Spark, Brownie, Guide, and Pathfinder leader. Lynn is also a member of the Wellington and District Lion’s Club and was recently presented the PE Lion’s Club Volunteer of the Year Award. She still plays hockey and is a member of the Lion’s rowing team. Nominated by Prince Edward Federation of Agriculture. Inducted 2018.
