A well known Campbellford bakery has been handed the award for being the best in Canada.
On Friday, Dooher’s Bakery, which has been in operation since 1949, was named the 2018 Sweetest Bakery in Canada.
The bakery, which turns out about 5,000 donuts every Saturday, was in the contest with dozens of other bakeries coast to coast to coast.

Quinte News called the bakery Monday morning, however officials could not talk too long about the win. The reason being is they were lined out the door, just a typical day for the small town shop, which continues with the fourth generation of the Dooher’s family.
They were nominated by Dawn Foods, the ingredient supplier for the Campbellford shop.
