Last week the Belleville Bulldogs Girls Under 17 team won the Toronto Rugby Union championship. Yesterday they did one better.
After trailing 7-0 early in the game, Belleville scored 22 unanswered points to beat Oshawa 22-7 to win the Provincial Rugby Championship. This was a re-match of last years final.
Sarah Lajoie led Belleville with two tries and a convert while Addy Walker and Amy Dirks had one tri each.
Belleville advanced to the final following a 22-0 thrashing of Brockville in the semis. Nadia Stinson scored two tries with singles from Jasmin Wakeling and Joleen Mason. Kiarra Millejours kicked a convert.
That Provincial championships caps an unbeaten season for the Bulldogs.
