A man pulled from an apartment fire in an older home in Trenton late Thursday afternoon had to be airlifted to Sunnybrook Hospital for treatment.
Quinte West firefighters responded at 5:30 to a house at 7 Queen Street at the intersection with Cresswell Drive.
They smashed the front door down to pull the victim out. The fire was out in about 20 minutes and contained to a small part of the home.
Quinte West Fire Chief John Whalen says about $40,000 damage was done and that the OPP and the Ontario Fire Marshal will join Quinte West officials in the investigation for a cause.
