As local conservation authorities declare a minor drought and ask residents to cut back on water usage, it will come as no surprise that July was a hot and very dry month.
According to Environment Canada using readings taken from CFB Trenton, the average high last month was 28 degrees celsius and the average low was a little over 16 degrees.
The usual average high for the Quinte region is 26.3 degrees and the low 15.2 degrees.
But, the big difference between the norm and last month came in rainfall amounts.
The usual rainfall for a July in the area is 69 mm.
Last month, we received a paltry 26 mm.
Environment Canada did not display data for 2 days last month.
