The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change and wpd were in court last Friday (July 6).
Three construction sites within the White Pines project area were found to have deficient erosion and sediment control measures in place by ministry staff.
The MOECC issued a ticket for each of the offenses as the measures were not in compliance with the company’s Renewable Energy Approval according to staff at the MOE Belleville office.
The deficiencies were found during three routine visits to the site in May.
The next scheduled court date is October 5, 2018.
According to the MOE, since the Ministry issued the tickets, the company has implemented a new internal inspection process for erosion and sediment control measures.
Ministry staff visited the project area May 29 to review erosion and sediment controls and no offsite impacts were identified.
Ministry staff continue to visit the project area and closely monitor the project for compliance with its Renewable Energy Approval.
