A partial burn ban is being put in place in Prince Edward County.
Fire Chief Scott Manlow says the ban is needed because of high winds in the forecast.
Burning is restricted to a container with a screened top, or a small camp fire.
Manlow is also reminding residents that a permit is required for all open air burning.
The permits cost $15 and can be purchased at Fire Station 1, on MacDonald Drive in Picton, Shire Hall, or at any County Library.
Those permits are valid until the end of the calendar year.
