The health unit that serves Northumberland County has begun a new program of checks on businesses such as restaurants, beauty businesses and recreational water facilities.
The Haliburton, Kawatha, Pine Ridge health unit “disclosure” program means a sign must be displayed at the business.
The sign shows the most recent health unit inspection visit date, and the results.
Officials say it’s an easy way for people to check in on a business or service, to see if it is following all safety and health regulations.
