It seems like there will be more local impact on the Ontario Tory decision to cut the cap and trade system.
Because of the scrapping of the cap-and-trade system, another $100 million program for school repairs across the province, is also being cancelled.
That will impact the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board significantly, as the board had planned for $1.2 million worth of energy upgrades to its schools this year and will now lose most of that money.
The only money being awarded will be for projects already contracted out and in Hastings and Prince Edward, that amounts to $350,000.
Plans for the rest of the money will be shelved for the time being.
