The hot dry weather has forced fire department officials in both Belleville and Quinte West to issue partial burn bans.
Under a partial burn ban, small campfires and supervised fires in burn barrels are permitted, however all other outdoor burning such as the burning of brush will not be permitted in either Belleville or Quinte West until further notice.
Meanwhile, all outdoor burning is banned in Centre Hastings, Stirling-Rawdon, Tweed, Madoc Townbship, and Marmora and Lake.
The fire departments remind the public that a permit is required for any outdoor burning.
