Quinte West firefighters did not have a quiet Sunday afternoon.
There was a fire along a hydro line on South Trent Street in Frankford just before 5 o’clock which caused a widespread power outage for over 2,000 Hydro One customers in the early evening.
The power out affected the Frankford fire hall and firefighters had to manually crank the hall’s bay doors open to respond.
And, at 5:45, a vehicle driven by an elderly woman hit a tree on Harrington Road. Firefighters from the Batawa station had to extricate her.
She was taken to Trenton Memorial Hospital for treatment.
