OPP officers in the East Region, including the Quinte area, laid almost 2,000 speeding charges over the Canada Day long weekend.
On top of that, 33 stunt/racing charges for driving more than 50 kmh over the speed limit were laid.
There were four fatalities on East Region highways over the weekend and 20 impaired driving charges were laid.
