It was hot, but not quite steamy enough to set a new high temperature record in our area Sunday.
According to Environment Canada and readings taken at CFB Trenton, the high temperature on Canada Day reached 32 degrees celsius, just a fraction lower than the record of 32.2 degrees set in 1963.
Meanwhile, the temperature could soar again to near 34 degrees Monday. However, even if it does get that warm it won’t be a new record.
The hottest July 2 recorded in the Quinte region was 35.6 degrees in 1966.
