Another big mural is expected to be created this summer in downtown Belleville by a local artist.
The BDIA Board of Directors approved a grant of $1,000 to artist Christopher Bennett Wednesday. His business is known as Dislexsick SeRnA.
Bennett will work with the BDIA and anyone interested to come up with a theme or themes for the mural, which will be located on the wall of the building where La Favorita/Duke Pub is located.
The estimated cost of the mural would be around $3,000 and it’s hoped the artist could begin work by the upcoming Summerfest and Markets in the Village event to be held July 28.
Bennett has painted murals on the United Way building on Harriett Street, the Donini Chocolate building, the wall along Chilango’s patio and on the wall of the Belle Pub.
Bennett guarantees bright colours for at least 10 years saying he’ll be using top quality exterior paint made in Italy.
