Quinte Health Care’s Board of Directors wants to clarify its position on kidney dialysis treatments in the region.
The citizen’s advocacy group OurTMH has criticized QHC’s board for not actively supporting its push to have a dialysis clinic set up at Trenton Memorial Hospital.
At Tuesday’s Quinte Health Care board meeting, both the Chair Stuart Wright and President Mary Clare Egberts said the Ontario Renal Network controls kidney treatment in the region, not QHC.
Egberts says for the immediate future, the renal network sees improving services in Kingston and Belleville as the priorities.
