On June 23, 2018, at 11:40 p.m, officers conducted a traffic stop of a motor vehicle driving suspiciously in a north end industrial area in Belleville. Two male occupants were spoken to by police; however, they were unable to provide any identifying documentation in order to confirm their identities. Both were taken into custody and held until their identities could be confirmed. The Belleville Police Service Forensic Identification Unit was able to confirm the identity of the passenger who had originally provided a false name to police. As a result, 33-year-old Zoltan Farkas of Toronto has been charged with Obstructing Police and Breaching court-ordered curfew condition. Farkas is scheduled to appear in Belleville court in July. The driver of the vehicle was issued Provincial Offence notices for driving without a licence.
There were no other significant calls for service.
