A recent 24-hour OPP traffic safety blitz was well worth doing.
Operation Corridor focused on tractor trailers and police pulled over a total of 1,692 trucks province-wide on June 13 and 14.
Officers laid a total of 697 charges and took 63 transports out of service because of mechanical problems.
Leading the list of charges laid was speeding, at 226. Defective equipment charges ranked second, totaling 176.
The province-wide blitz was a joint effort between the OPP and the Ministry of Transportation.
