As of September 1, the Moira Secondary School name will be no more and Eastside Secondary School will replace it.
It was a quick and unanimous decision by the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board on Monday night.
Director of Education Mandy Savery-Whiteway addressed the push back on the renaming process.
She says the trustees decided a year ago the consolidated school would have a new name.
The new mascot will be the raven and the new colours will be purple, grey and black.
The school was to be named Meyers Creek Secondary but the name was later linked to slavery, prompting the board to reopen the naming process.
