The Belleville Police Service responded to 66 calls from June 15, 2018 at 5 am and June 16, 2018 at 5 a.m.
Liquor arrest
On June 15, 2018 at 9:38 p.m. police arrived at Quinte Healthcare Corp Belleville, for a report of a man who was drunk and refusing to leave the hospital. An investigation resulted in a 25-year-old Brockville, Ontario man getting arrested. He was charged with being intoxicated in a public place under the Liquor Licence Act and taken into custody. The man was released on a provincial offence notice the next day.
Domestic disputes
On June 15, 2018 at 6:50 p.m. police responded to a dispute between a man and a woman in the east end of the city. An investigation revealed a man damaged some property within the home. There were no reported injuries. Police attempted to mediate with the couple, but were unsuccessful. The man agreed to leave for the evening. An investigation is continuing.
On June 15, 2018 at 11:02 p.m. police responded to another dispute in the central core of the city for a report of a man and a woman fighting outside a restaurant. Police attended and investigated. This pair had a difference of opinions regarding property being moved between residences by a wagon. It was agreed by both they would go separate ways for the evening. There was no report of any injuries.
Other assistance
Police attended four calls to assist ambulance within the preceding 24-hour period. People were taken to hospital in three of the matters. Police also attended to numerous liquor licence act violations, neighbour disputes, traffic complaints, harassment calls, and a total of six 911 call/911 hang-ups – all which were investigated and resulted from accidental pocket-dials, non-emergent questions, and in one case, a group of teenaged children playing with a pay phone.
