The second degree murder trial of a man accused of killing Belleville native Elizabeth Nugent continued in a Milton courtroom Monday.
Forty-five-year-old Malcolm Copeland is on trial after the 32-year-old Nugent was found dead in her Burlington apartment in October of 2014.
According to InsideHalton.com, court heard evidence from a Guelph Police Service Staff Sergeant who is a blood spatter expert.
Several photos were displayed. A bloody box cutter was found at the scene.
Nugent and Copeland both worked at the same pub and were living together at the time.
Copeland’s lawyer says his client was acting in self defence.
The trial continues in front of a jury of 10 men and two women.
