A long time announcer for Quinte Broadcasting has died.
John “Bud” Hunter died at the age of 79. Station Manager Bill Morton says “Hunter was a true professional on air and a real character who was known and admired by the community. He gave all of us many great memories. He was one of a kind.”
Hunter took to the airwaves as CJTN’s morning man in the 1980s.
Quinte Broadcasting News Director John Spitters was early morning newsman on CJTN for some of those years.
“Bud was totally into his job, he loved it, and he worked hard. He was funny on air and funnier off of it. We had some wild times back in the day.”
Funeral arrangements are private.
