Belleville Police have updated a sexual assault investigation from last week, releasing the name of the accused.
The investigation began after a teenage girl told police a man had offered her a ride home on Thursday, but instead took her to a secluded area in Thurlow Ward and sexually assaulted her, before she was able to get out of his truck.
Police say the accused is 74-year-old Thomas Michael Boyle, of Belleville and he’s charged with sexual assault, sexual interference and forcible confinement.
He had a bail hearing on Monday.
Investigators are still asking anyone who might have information related to the incident to contact Detective Sergeant Pat Kellar of the Criminal Investigations Branch
