Showers of colour are expected to mark a charity fundraiser walk/run in Trenton this week.
St. Paul’s Secondary School is hosting the event in support of Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation at 10 a.m. on Tuesday.
Trenton high school students are also participating.
Teacher and student council advisor, Maria Morris, says the goal is to raise $10,000 for the hospital’s orthopedic instrumentation.

The 5-K walk, with abut 500 students, will make its way through the hospital field where coloured water will be tossed on the walkers at five water stations.
Morris said, “The dye used is bio-degradable and washes off. We had to get approval from the city to use it. Once we get a good first rain, after the event, it will all be gone off the sidewalks.”

Executive Director at the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation, Wendy Warner, says, “With the summer months coming, we know we will see an increase in the number of young people coming into our emergency department so this event will help to provide the tools we need to take care of them.”
The government does not provide funding for capital medical equipment, the Foundation does that.
After the event, the students will enjoy a BBQ at St. Paul’s, thanks to the Trenton Kiwanis Club and Seasons Retirement Residence.
