A 70-year-old woman has been charged in connection with an OPP investigation into horses running wild in Tyendinaga Township.
Police had responded to numerous calls in the area of Blessington and Weese Roads in recent months and determined that the horses were able to roam free due to improper fencing.
Concerns had also been voiced to police about the overall health and welfare of the animals on the farm and the OSPCA was brought in to investigate.
Yesterday, the OPP and officials with Tyendinaga Township and the OSPCA executed a search warrant on the property and charged Charlotte Bright with mischief.
While the horses will be removed from the property until a proper enclosure can be built, police are reminding drivers in the area to be alert as six horses are still free and could be roaming the area.
