Belleville council will make a final decision regarding a proposed new affordable housing apartment building at its meeting Monday afternoon.
The 32-unit building would be located at 111 Great St. James Street, which is behind The Beer Store, which fronts on Station Street.
The developer says rents would be about 80% of current market rents.
Council will see a letter from a resident of nearby Alexander Street who says the land is flood-prone and that residents won’t like the noise and fumes from the trucks loading and unloading at The Beer Store.
Council meets at 4 o’clock Monday afternoon at city hall.
