Although final numbers are not tallied, close to $100,000 is expected to have been raised at the 14th annual TMFRC Invisible Ribbon Gala. The event is the major fundraiser of the year for the Trenton Military Family Resource Centre.
The event at the National Air Force Museum of Canada was the annual black tie event, which helps to raise funds for the many programs and resources the MFRC offers.
Saturday night saw exhibits come to life, with the events theme A Night at the Museum, a take-off on the popular movie series.
Trenton MFRC Director of Operations Leo Phillips says planning for this year began nine months ago.
Phillips says they wanted to try something different this year. He says normally they do a guest speaker, or music, but with the history of the museum, it was a no-brainer.
One of the guest speakers of the evening was Michelle MacKay, whose husband Captain Cameron MacKay. She talked about the benefits of the MFRC.
MFRC Executive Director Tamara Kleinschmidt spoke to those in attendance.
