The Golden Plough Lodge in Cobourg will be expanding thanks to an injection of provincial cash.
MPP Lou Rinaldi announced Friday the Northumberland County-funded long term care facility will be able to add 29 long term care beds within the next four years.
It’s part of the Ontario Government’s commitment to add 5,000 more long term care beds by 2022 and 30,000 more over the next decade.
The province is also investing $300 million over the next three years to add more registered nurses at long term care facilities and increase the provincial average to four hours of daily care per resident.
