The president of a local trucking giant says a merger with another trucking family is great for business, the local economy, and their customers.
International Truckload Services COO and President Rob Haggarty has announced a merger with Mortrans, a division of Meyers Transportation Services.
He says not only will they welcome all staff over to ITS, they will be growing the company.
Haggarty adds that the location for this deal is perfect.
ITS is located on Bellevue Drive, while the Belleville Mortrans location is within a kilometre, at Grills Road, near Wallbridge-Loyalist Road.
The President says the merger benefits are two fold.
Chairwoman of Mortrans Natalie Meyers made the following statement to Quinte News. “We are pleased to announce the merger of these two longtime, local trucking families. I believe that by joining forces, Mortrans will be stronger and better positioned to service its customers in the long term, and to provide both greater job security and opportunities to its employees. The employees at Mortrans have been extremely loyal to the Meyers family, and I don’t hesitate to say are some of the best in the business. I thank each and every one of them for their hard work and dedication all these years. Our decision was based on what we felt was the best for the future of our employees, and I know the Haggarty family will be impressed with all of them.”
