Current Quinte West Councillor Duncan Armstrong has filed nomination papers to be the city’s next mayor.
Armstrong is the first to file for the mayor’s job, while five others filed for councillor positions, with the nomination window opening Tuesday.
Incumbent Trenton Ward Councillor Sally Freeman has filed, along with current Sidney Ward Councillors Allen DeWitt and Don Kuntze, and current Murray Ward Councillor David McCue.
Lynda Reid has filed to run in Frankford Ward, the seat currently held by her husband Keith.
Along with the mayor, five councillors will be elected in Trenton Ward, four in Sidney, two in Murray and one in Frankford.
