It’s hard to say goodbye to something you love, even if it means a chance at bigger and better things.
Prince Edward County Mayor Robert Quaiff formally said his goodbyes to council on Tuesday night, and even became emotional as he thanked his fellow councillors for the previous three and a half years.
While he doesn’t officially hand things over to Dianne O’Brien until May 1st (she was voted acting mayor earlier this year) this was his last meeting.
Quaiff says he’s proud to have served with this council and he can walk away knowing they did their job to best serve the residents of Prince Edward County.
He is stepping away from his role as mayor to run as the Liberal candidate in the upcoming provincial election.
