An innovative digital media company based out of Picton has received some provincial funding.
Yugen Inc. received $213,000 from the Interactive Digital Media Fund.
Jeff Leal, the MPP for Peterborough made the announcement on Monday afternoon at the Drake Devonshire on behalf of the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport.
Ram Puvanesasingham, the CEO of Yugen says this funding will go a long way to helping develop some content using the technology created by Yugen.
Gepeto is an online storytelling app for children that uses hands-on play to spark creativity and teach critical thinking.

Leal says technology is changing the way we express ourselves, the way we work and even the way we move.
He says interactive digital technology now supports 20,000 jobs in Ontario and contributes $2.7 billion to the gross domestic product.
Prince Edward County Mayor Robert Quaiff says this will cause a ripple effect in the county.
More than $9 million has been invested to support 136 projects in Ontario through the Interactive Digital Media Fund.
