A Brighton man is facing multiple charges after a traffic stop in Quinte West and a joint investigation with Durham Regional Police.
OPP stopped a vehicle for speeding on Highway 2 on Sunday morning and found an amount of crack cocaine in the vehicle.
The driver had lied to police about his identity and when investigators looked into it, they found that Durham Police had an open investigation into him for breaking into a house in Uxbridge and stealing a vehicle.
He allegedly also took things from other vehicles in Uxbridge before heading back to Quinte West and police say all of the stolen items were found in the car.
Thirty-year-old Jesse Fraser of Brighton is charged with possession of crack cocaine, obstructing police, break and enter, driving while suspended and speeding.
He’s also charged with two counts each of theft of a vehicle and theft under $5,000, along with three counts of breaching probation.
He was held in custody with a bail hearing on Monday.
