One of the hydro companies servicing Belleville has been named one of the greenest employers in Canada for a ninth straight year.
Veridian Connections received the award from the Canada’s Top 100 Employers project, for its environmental initiatives and programs, reductions in its environmental footprint and getting employees involved in those green-friendly initiatives.
The company has been recognized for a number of reasons including the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design silver certification for its Ajax headquarters.
The Ajax HQ also has a solar-powered electric car charging station located there, which is free to use for employees and visitors and the company encourages employees to use alternative transportation, has reserved parking for carpoolers and a bike lending program.
