A 37-year-old Peterborough man has been charged in connection with a crash last December that killed a 52-year-old woman from Havelock.
The crash happened on the afternoon of December 12, on Highway 7 east of Peterborough, when two vehicles collided head-on.
Eileen Wilson was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the other vehicle was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
A seven-year-old girl and five-year-old boy riding in his car had to be airlifted to a Toronto trauma centre, but did survive, although the girl sustained “life altering injuries”.
Ricky Nielsen of Peterborough is charged with one count each of dangerous driving causing death and driving while suspended, along with two counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm.
He’ll be in court on May 10.
