The Belleville Police Service responded to 57 calls for service between April 7, 2018 at 5 a.m. and April 8, 2018 at 5 a.m.
Disturbances
Belleville, Ontario – On April 7, 2018, at 3:30 p.m. police attended at a residence on Station Street in relation to a ‘dropped’ 911 call. Upon arrival it was revealed that several intoxicated persons were involved in a disturbance. A 48-year-old Belleville man was arrested for his own protection under the Liquor Licence Act. He was charged with being intoxicated in a public place and issued a provincial offence notice. No one was injured.
On April 8, 2018, between midnight and 2:40 a.m. police were dispatched to three disturbances on North Front Street. In the third incident at 2:40 a.m. a 22-year-old Trenton man was arrested for his own protection. He was lodged in the cells and issued a provincial offence notice for being intoxicated in a public place. There were no injuries.
Arrest on warrants
Belleville, Ontario – On April 7, 2018, at 4:40 p.m. an officer on patrol recognized a male walking on Bridge Street West who was wanted by the Belleville Police Service. The 23-year-old Belleville man was arrested and held for a bail hearing on April 8, 2018. The charges included two counts of breach of probation.
Motor Vehicle Collisions
Belleville, Ontario – On April 7, 2018, police attended at seven motor vehicle collisions across the city.
At 5:45 p.m. police attended on John Street, north of Bridge Street, as an unknown vehicle had struck a parked silver Honda. A note was left behind on the Honda containing false information. Anyone who may have witnessed this incident is encouraged to call either Quinte Crimestoppers or Cst. Scott Tinsley at 613-966-0882 extension 4171.
At 11:33 p.m. officers attended at a two-car accident on College Street East at Baldwin Street as one car had rear-ended another. EMS attended but the occupants did not require medical attention. A male driver was charged with careless driving.
The remaining accidents were minor in nature. Several were referred to the Collision Reporting Centre. There were no reported injuries.
