As the days count down towards the June 7 provincial election, leaders of the major parties have been making their voices heard, especially here in the Quinte Region.
PC Leader Doug Ford spoke on CJBQ’s Lorne Brooker Show this morning and says, while he’s typically a “Toronto-focused” politician, he’s gonig to show rural Ontarians that they have a say as well.
Ford noted one major key in his party’s platform is to get government spending under control, saying Ontario has the largest sub-national debt in the entire world.
Ford added that the other key parts of his platform are to reduce the size of government, cut wait times in hospitals and shut down all of the “back room deals” done by the governing Liberals.
He says the party’s full platform will be released in the coming weeks, but until then, he continues to travel the province and tell people about the issues he feels are important.
