The Grace Inn Homeless Shelter is getting support from not just residents, but businesses too!
On Wednesday night at the shelter site on Church Street in Belleville, trades people came out to see what work needs to be done.
Grace Inn spokeswoman Michelle Stephens says representatives from more than a dozen companies showed up.
Stephens says plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, flooring, cabinetry and much more will all need to be covered.
Companies will now go back and put together proposals and bids, on what could be a half million dollars worth of work.
Stephens and the Grace Inn board of directors are hopeful companies will help cover some of the labour and supply costs.
A permit for demolition inside the building is expected by month’s end.
