When it comes to road surface treatments in Brighton this year, council has elected to have Northumberland County complete the work.
During budget discussions this year, council asked staff to get quotes for road surface treatments for approximately 14 kms of their roadways.
The report was brought forward on Tuesday by Lucas Kelly with three options.
Council elected to go with the option that wouldn’t increase their budget for this year.
Councillor Steve Baker said he received a number of complaints last year and the quality of the work is being questioned by residents.
Councillor Laura Vink said it was worthwhile to take advantage of the savings by working with Northumberland County on this.
The second option would have cost the municipality over $131,000 and the third option would have cost $86,000.
