Stirling-Rawdon fire crews couldn’t save a vehicle from destruction Saturday evening.
Around 6:30 p.m., firefighters from the department and the grass fire unit went to the rail bed between Goods and Tuftsville Roads to extinguish the blaze.
The truck wound up being destroyed by the flames, but luckily, no one was inside at the time of the fire.
According to Stirling-Rawdon Fire Chief Derrick Little, the owner was checking a trapline and came out to his vehicle ablaze.
Little adds the fire is not considered suspicious.
Because of dry conditions, crews had to keep watch on the situation to make sure grass didn’t burn along the rail bed.
There were no injuries and no damage estimates have been released.
